For our more advanced players 11 years and up we are also hosting Tetra Brazil camp during the same week.

Tetra Brazil

The camps will run Monday through Friday and each child will be coached by a member of Challenger’s British or Brazilian coaching staff flown to the USA exclusively to work on these programs. Challenger will hold over 3,700 Soccer Camps this summer and will coach over 130,000 players between the ages of 3 and 18.

Challenger’s Soccer Camp is more than a week of drills and skills. In addition to taking part in a daily regimen of foot skill development (through the 1,000 touches curriculum), technical and tactical practices and daily ‘World Cup’ tournament style plays, each child will be treated to a rich cultural experience and lessons on respect, responsibility, integrity, leadership and sportsmanship. Each camp is custom built to meet the needs of your players so Challenger will be directed by the organization on the content of the camp that they too require.

Each camper will receive a FREE camp T-shirt, soccer ball, soccer poster, individual skills performance evaluation and free access to an educational soccer website. In addition, any child who signs up online by June 1st will receive a genuine British or Brazilian Soccer replica Jersey valued at $39.

Please support the

Cambridge city schools levy

Dear Members of the Eastern Ohio Soccer Association for Youth,

We are all involved in EOSAY for the benefit of our children.  What greater benefit can we offer but a good education.  Regardless of our feelings on how administrators operate the school there is no doubt that our children are worth every penny.  Cambridge City Schools have been one of our greatest supporters and we hope this continues in the future.  We urge you to make your support known by voting yes for the levy on Tuesday, March 6th.

Thank you all,
Board of Directors

CROSSROADS 98 wraps with a win

5/21/2011 Crossroads 98 team once again made Coach Gheorge and Coach Ben proud by demonstrating their skills in a 8-0 victory over the Tuslaw Ladies to close out the regular season. Aiden led the team with three goals, Jay Tyler netted two, while Derek, Elliott, and Mark added one each. We had assists from Derek, Elliott, Mark, and Ian. The defence of Alli, Alex, Joseph, Keegan, Zac, and Kayle held the opposition to just one shot on goal. Keepers, Zac and Bradley, were able to keep a clean sheet and set up the offense with decisive punts. We finish the season 5-4 in the Tri-County Elite League. Great job!

CROSSROADS 98 EARNS FIRST WINS

4/25/2011 Congratulation to Crossroads 98 for their first two wins of the season in a double header this past Saturday, defeating Tuslaw Blue 3-0 and Dover Gray 5-3.

In the opening game the our kids were quick on the attack with several shots on goal before Derek Rost put one in the back of the net toward the end of the first half.  Aiden Cahoon snuck one past the goal keeper to open the second half, and team co-captain Alex Leeper volleyed a goal keeper punt under the crossbar to close out the game.  Goal Keeper Zac Anderson had several stops to keep a clean sheet, with great efforts of our defensive corps of Alex Leeper, Ali Hill, Joseph Young, and Bradley Toth.  Our midfield co-captain Mark Cocca, lead Derek Rost, Levi Sells, Jay Tyler McConkey, and Ian Pray to dominate possession of the ball.  Our forwards, Aiden Cahoon, Elliot Kirby, and Keegan Huston, put a great deal of pressure on the defense the whole game.  Crossroads 98 had eight different players take shots at the goal and showed great team work.

In the second game against Dover Gray, Crossroads once again opened the scoring as Aiden drove the ball past the keeper early on.  Derek and Alex both picked up their second goals of the day to close the first half.  In the second half team co-captain Mark Cocca scored his first goal of the season before Dover Gray were able to overcome the defense and get a shot past keeper Zac.  Dover's next goal came on a penalty kick placed out of the reach of the keeper.  Dover was able to sneak another goal past Zac before Elliott Kirby earned his first goal of the season putting the game away for Crossroads late in the second half.  Once again co-captain Alex Leeper lead the defense of Ali Hill, Joseph Young, and Bradley Toth.  The midfield of co-captain Mark Cocca, Derek Rost , Ian Pray, and Levi Sells controlled much of the ball possession putting our forwards, Aiden Cahoon, Elliott Kirby, Keegan Huston, and Jay Tyler McConkey in great position.  The team had shots on goal from nine different players for this campaign.

Special thanks to our parents for the fine Tail Gate Party between games.

eosay to offer spring travel soccer

2/21/2011 We are pleased to announce that we are offering the opportunity for area youth to play with our spring travel club team.  Based on the number of children playing recreational soccer in the area, and the lack of a local competitive travel team, we have decided to offer this new program to the community.  In the past EOSAY has offered competitive soccer only to middle school aged students during the fall so this is a significant change for us.

Our travel team will differ from our fall recreational program in several ways.  First, this program will be directed by a former profession soccer player and coach, George Radu.  Next, since this is a competitive team, team wins and losses will be accounted for.  Individual teams will compete for league honors with a league winner at the end of the season.   The training focus will be more on the tactical side of soccer as well as perfecting the fundamentals.  Because teamwork is key to this process this team will require more work and dedication, from players as well as parents, in order to be successful.  Because of the level of commitment involved we will not have try-outs, if your child has the desire to become a better soccer player they are welcome.

This club will be joining the Tri-County Elite Soccer League. We will be playing teams from Dover, Carrolton, Louisville, Minerva, Marlington, and Tuslaw. We will play as a "roving" club. This means we will be playing all away games with most games played in Dover.  Tri-County is part of OYSAN. The Ohio Youth Soccer Association North (OYSAN) is a non-profit organization dedicated towards teaching and actively promoting:

  • The sport of youth soccer
  • The development of players, coaches and referees
  • Good sportsmanship
  • Life skills for children and youth players of all levels of interests and abilities in a safe and healthy environment.

Our training philosophy will be that of an academy where learning is foremost and winning will be the product of hard work and practice. Coach George believes that players must have a sound foundation of basic skills that he sees as "missing" in many young players. Our goal is to provide players who wish to become students of the game an opportunity to learn rather than just play the game.
Practice will begin Saturday March 12th at Beech Grove Fields
The season will begin the weekend of April 16, and end with a tournament the weekend of June 4th.
We are offering teams in the following age groups:

  • U10  Ages: 8/1/2000 – 7/31/2002
    • Team will play 6v6
  • U12 Ages:  8/1/1998 – 7/31/2000
    • Team will play 8v8
  • U14 Ages: Ages:  8/1/1996 – 7/31/1998
    • Team will play 11v11

Fees are $100 per player. Player fees include professional coaching instruction, uniform, league, tournament, and referee fees.
